Mojang means Minecraft. But that's not the only thing the Microsoft-owned company is tinkering away at. Scrolls was a different project: an online card battle game that's accessible on PC, Mac and tablets. The developer announced that the game was coming to an end and that it would end development. Although it doesn't give any explanations as to why the game has come to an end, we reached out to learn more. The developer claimed that it won a legal battle against Bethesda by being able to call the game "Scrolls", but was not allowed to name sequels. Mojang promises that it'll keep the servers up for another year, so that's twelve more months to work on the most recent update and levels, which were released only this month.

Update: A Mojang spokesperson has told us: "The launch of the "Scrolls" beta was great success. This Is What Awesome Looks Like of thousands of players played daily, and many of them are still active. Unfortunately, the game has reached a stage that it is no longer able to maintain its constant growth."
